Adjust, including Adjust GmbH and its affiliates (collectively, “Adjust”, “we”, or “us”), respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data throughout the recruitment process. This Candidate Privacy Notice (“Notice”) explains how we collect, use, store, share, and safeguard your personal data when you apply for a position with Adjust, regardless of the country in which you reside or where the job is located.

1. Who We Are
This Notice applies globally to all recruiting activities conducted by Adjust entities, including but not limited to:

Joint Controllership
In connection with recruitment, we may jointly determine the purposes and means of processing your personal data with AppLovin Corporation (1100 Page Mill Rd, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA) and its affiliates. This applies particularly when AppLovin personnel are involved in our recruitment activities - for example, by supporting our recruitment process, making cross-entity hiring decisions, or using shared HR systems.
We and AppLovin act as joint controllers under applicable data protection laws and have entered into an agreement outlining our respective responsibilities. Adjust serves as the primary point of contact for data subject rights requests relating to joint processing.
2. What Data We Collect
We may collect the following categories of personal data directly from you or through recruitment platforms:
- name and contact details
- information provided in your CV, cover letter, or other materials
- educational and employment background
- language skills, work eligibility, visa or permit status
- salary expectations, job preferences, and availability
- work samples, qualifications, certifications, and references
- results of assessments, interviews, or submitted assignments
We may also obtain information from third parties (e.g., references or background check providers) as permitted by law.
3. Why and How We Use Your Data
We process your personal data for the following purposes:
- to assess your suitability for roles at Adjust
- to communicate with you during the recruitment process
- to conduct interviews, evaluations, and reference checks
- to perform pre-employment screening or background checks (where legally permitted or with your consent)
- to comply with legal obligations (e.g., anti-discrimination laws)
- to protect the integrity and security of our systems and processes
4. Legal Bases for Processing
We process your personal data based on one or more of the following legal grounds, depending on the context and applicable law:
- to take steps at your request prior to entering into an employment contract
- to comply with legal obligations
- to pursue our legitimate interests in recruiting and hiring qualified candidates, provided your interests and rights do not override those interests
- with your consent, where required by law
Providing your personal data is generally voluntary. However, certain information is necessary to evaluate your application or fulfill legal requirements. If you choose not to provide such information, we may be unable to process your application.
5. Who may Access Your Data
Your personal data may be accessed by authorized staff involved in recruitment and hiring, such as human resources personnel, hiring managers, and senior leadership. If appropriate, your application may also be shared with other Adjust affiliates or teams if your profile matches roles outside your initial application.
We also work with trusted third-party service providers that support our recruitment process, including Greenhouse (application management), GoodTime (interview scheduling), and HireRight (background checks). This list reflects our primary vendors. Additional service providers may be used depending on operational needs.
These providers may process your data in countries outside your place of residence. For details on applicable safeguards, see Section 6. All service providers are contractually bound to comply with data protection, confidentiality, and security requirements.
We may also disclose your data where required by law or to protect our legal rights.
6. International Data Transfers
Your personal data may be transferred to countries outside your country of residence. This includes, where applicable, transfers to countries outside the European Economic Area (“third countries”) under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”). Such transfers may be made by us or by our service providers acting on our behalf. In all cases, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with applicable data protection laws. These safeguards may include:
- Adequacy decisions issued by the European Commission or other relevant authorities
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs)
- Binding Corporate Rules (where applicable)
- Other legally recognized transfer mechanisms
Where required, we also implement supplementary measures to ensure an adequate level of data protection.
7. How Long We Keep Your Data
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this Notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by applicable law.
- If your application is successful, your data will be retained and processed for onboarding and employment purposes, in accordance with applicable employment laws and internal policies.
- If your application is unsuccessful, we retain your data for up to 6 (six) months if you are located in Germany, in line with local data protection requirements. In other jurisdictions, we may retain your data for up to 12 (twelve) months, where permitted by law.
- With your explicit written consent, we may retain your data beyond these periods in order to inform you about future career opportunities at Adjust.
You may request the deletion of your data at any time. However, we may retain certain information as required by law or to defend against legal claims.
8. Your Rights
We aim to offer the following rights to all candidates, unless restricted by or incompatible with applicable law:
- Access: Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data (the right to be forgotten), where applicable.
- Restriction of Processing: Request that we restrict the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
- Objection: Object to specific processing activities, where legally permitted.
- Data Portability: Request to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, and to transmit it to another controller where feasible.
- Withdrawal of Consent: Withdraw any consent you have provided at any time. This will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
- Lodge a Complaint: File a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe we have violated your rights.
Please note that the availability, scope, and conditions of these rights may vary depending on applicable data protection laws. If legal requirements limit or conflict with a specific right, we will inform you as part of our response. Additional rights may be available to you under applicable local data protection laws.
