Employee story: Sebastian Daly’s AIDS/Lifecycle fundraiser for Pride Month

For our latest employee story and as part of our Pride Month celebrations, we had a chat with Sebastian Daly - Adjust’s Partnerships Manager, US. Read on to learn about Sebastian’s journey at Adjust, his work in diversity and inclusion, and his fundraising efforts during Pride Month.

Coming from two years on the Sales team, Sebastian’s wealth of knowledge has enabled him to support a variety of partners in their utilization of Adjust. More recently, his work with CTV partners has been instrumental in expanding our measurement capabilities in the partnerships space. Sebastian has also taken an active role in Adjust’s Diversity and Inclusion efforts, ensuring that we foster a welcoming and inclusive space for all.

Tell us a bit about your background and what led you to Adjust?

While the British accent can throw people off, I am based in San Francisco and have been living here for four years. After cutting my teeth selling cars and solar power at Tesla, I was introduced to Adjust through a friend on my soccer team. My natural affinity for sales and keen interest in media led me to grow quickly within the organization.

How did you get into D&I work and how has your experience been at Adjust?

Sports have always been a safe haven for me, yet growing up I became acutely aware of how exclusionary they can be in nature. As a prominent member of my hockey team at university, I was a founding member of our LGBT+ committee and also launched a ‘Pride In Sports’ initiative that continues to run annually.

What has been awesome about working at Adjust is the consultative and people-first approach we take to sales. During the summer of 2020, we launched Adjust’s Diversity & Inclusion committee to create a more inclusive and equitable workplace for all Adjusters. Since its inception, we have helped shape policy, facilitate expert-led workshops, and launched our very own ‘Unicorn Day’.

You’re participating in this year’s AIDS/Lifecycle event — tell us a bit about that.

Since moving to San Francisco, cycling has become integral to my life, allowing me to meet an awesome and diverse group of people while exploring the stunning landscapes of northern California. AIDS/Lifecycle is the pinnacle cycling event in the state and for good reason. This 7-day bike ride from SF to LA covers 545 miles with an elevation greater than Mount Kilimanjaro. Most importantly of all, the ride raises funds for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center, agencies that do critical work in reducing new HIV infections and improving the quality of life for people living with HIV/AIDS.

I am forever grateful for Adjust’s support, not only in encouraging me to participate (even though it means I miss out on MAU!) but also in generously sponsoring my fundraising efforts. It is really a testament to our company’s supportive and forward-thinking culture.

What advice would you give to a candidate looking to join Adjust?

My experience at Adjust has been incredibly positive and I would simply encourage candidates to be constantly inquisitive, meet people across our different teams and have fun!

We wish Sebastian all the very best for his ride and encourage everyone who would like to join Adjust in contributing to his fundraising efforts. You can find the donation page and all information here.
