Snapchat unified attribution

Snapchat Unified Attribution: What app marketers need to know

Snapchat has announced that Unified Attribution, a new optimization and measurement capability, is now officially available to Adjust customers. For app marketers running Snapchat campaigns, the change is meaningful; it moves MMP data from a reporting layer to an active optimization input in real time.

What is Snapchat Unified Attribution?

Unified Attribution uses conversion signals reported by MMPs like Adjust, alongside Snapchat’s attribution signals, to optimize app campaigns in real time. This helps Snapchat make campaign decisions informed by the cross-channel measurement advertisers already use to evaluate performance. In addition to optimization, Unified Attribution brings these signals together in Snapchat Ads Manager, helping advertisers assess Snapchat performance in closer alignment with their MMP reporting.

Why this matters for measurement

The gap between what a platform reports and what an MMP reports has long been a challenge for app marketers. Platform-side data and MMP data rarely match exactly, and when they don't, making spend decisions based on platform metrics alone carries real risk.

Unified Attribution is designed to close that gap. By feeding MMP signals directly into Snapchat’s optimization, advertisers can act on trusted, cross-channel data rather than having to reconcile two separate views after the fact. This is better for performance, and it's better for measurement integrity.

For Adjust customers, this means your attribution data — the installs, in-app events, and conversion signals you're already capturing — can now directly inform how Snapchat allocates budget and optimizes delivery.

What advertisers can do with Unified Attribution

With Unified Attribution, app advertisers running Snapchat campaigns will be able to:

  • Optimize campaigns using real-time MMP conversion signals, rather than relying solely on platform-reported metrics.
  • Scale spend with greater confidence, knowing that campaign decisions are grounded in the same data used for cross-channel reporting.
  • Evaluate Snapchat’s true contribution to business outcomes, with Snapchat’s performance visible within the same measurement framework as the rest of the media mix.

How Adjust fits in

Adjust is an official Snapchat MMP partner. That means the conversion data flowing from your Adjust integration is precisely the kind of signal Unified Attribution is built to use.

As Snapchat continues to develop this capability, Adjust will work alongside the rollout to ensure our mutual customers can take full advantage. If you’re currently running Snapchat campaigns through Adjust and want to be ready for Unified Attribution when it becomes generally available, the best starting point is making sure your event mapping is configured and your key conversion events are being reported accurately.
