Pc console full player journey

Gaming is increasingly cross-device: players may discover a game on mobile, install it on PC, and play on console. For marketers, the challenge is understanding which campaigns drove that journey and how to follow performance across each touchpoint.

Adjust’s PC & Console solution is built to solve this problem, letting you measure adoption across devices, connect activity to a single player, and analyze performance alongside mobile in one place.

Built for the realities of PC and console measurement

PC and console environments aren’t like mobile app ecosystems. Platforms are more fragmented, identifiers vary, and games can be distributed through different storefronts and install paths.

Some studios already capture installs and in-game events in their own backend and use Adjust to attribute those outcomes back to marketing campaigns. Others use Adjust to connect web-based registration flows to later installs, so they can measure the full path from web engagement to gameplay.

Adjust supports three setup paths for PC and console measurement: S2S for in-game events, the Web SDK for web journeys, and external device ID matching to connect the same user across platforms.

Supporting cross-device use cases

Adjust supports both single-device and cross-device measurement across paths such as:

  • PC-to-PC
  • Mobile-to-PC
  • Mobile-to-console
  • PC-to-console
  • CTV-to-PC

One of our most common customer interests is Steam measurement, from ad click to storefront to in-game activity. Adjust makes it possible to connect campaign activity to in-game outcomes even when the install happens in a platform environment rather than through a traditional app store. Adjust links send users to the Steam storefront, then relay install and post-install activity back to Adjust through our S2S API.

For games built with Unity on Steam, Adjust also offers a dedicated SDK for Steamworks. This gives studios a native integration option alongside the S2S approach, making it easier to capture installs and in-game events without building a server pipeline.

Connecting web flows to game activity

Not every gaming journey starts in a store. Some begin on the web, with an email, registration, or account creation.

Adjust’s Web SDK helps measure the web side of the journey when campaigns drive users to a landing page or registration flow before install. For browser-based games that run entirely on the web, this means that measurement can be performed by the Web SDK alone.

If you want to match the attribution data from a web flow to in-game post-install activity, an external device ID can be used to match the web session to the eventual install, creating a deterministic link. This means you have cohesive measurement that connects campaign attribution with in-game player behavior.

Spend visibility and unified reporting in Datascape

SpendWorks helps teams consolidate PC and console ad spend data and analyze it alongside attribution and performance data, so ROAS is easier to evaluate across platforms. Paired with Datascape, this creates a unified reporting environment where PC and Console data sits alongside mobile, so teams can analyze acquisition performance, player behavior, and value across all platforms in one place.

Why this matters now

Adjust’s Gaming app insights report: 2026 edition highlights cross-platform expansion as a major industry trend. It also found that the global gaming paid-to-organic ratio rose 61% in 2025, pointing to the growing pressure on marketers to identify which channels actually drive efficient growth.

As gaming journeys become more fragmented and acquisition becomes more expensive, teams need a way to connect campaigns, platforms, and player value. Adjust’s PC & Console solution helps marketers measure the full player journey and understand long-term value across platforms.
